Cannes

Arrived back home from the loveliest time in Cannes with Sakina Paris. She designed a dress for french actrice Hafsia Herzi for the red carpet of Cannes Film Festival. I’ve captured the behind the scenes of this weekend and can’t wait to share the results with you soon. Hereby the photos of Cannes.

Beirut Fashion Week With Sakina Paris

My Beirut adventure! I’ve been working closely with Sakina for the last months and because she was invited as the Guest of Honor for Beirut Fashion Week, I was assisting her during this proces. We worked very hard on moodboards for hair and make up, music, video’s, models, preparing the dresses etc. If you want to read more, please click here for the blogpost of Sakina on her website.  The show went well and we were hearing only positive reactions! Before, in between the fittings and rehearsals and after the show, we visited also the MBC and LBC studios where Sakina was interviewed on (live) television. Such a great experience to see all of this.

It was also my first time in the Middle East, and I loved it so much! I was overwhelmed by the kind and warm people, the cozy streets, the amazing food and last but not least; the music. I listened to this song during these days, and it became my own soundtrack for this journey (even though the beginning of the song is in Spanish, haha).

I’m very happy and lucky to work internationally: being a Dutch girl working for a French couturier having her show in Lebanon.

Faby Fabulous

Meet my dear Fabienne! We call her Faby, but I think it’s pretty awesome that she is called fab. So for me she’s Fabulouso, Faby, Fab. I LOVE IT. Our heart is melting while we are walking through Saint Germain, talking about our passion for this city. We scrolled by a little band, La Plance A Dixie, yes the very French one at the corner at Deux Margots. We loved it so much that we both bought an oldschool cd. Yes, I still buy cd’s and I love it to have a collection of memories. Music brings people together. Faby and I had more drinks, more talks and ofcourse, my camera was also invited.

Please check her fabulous website, if you are as much in love with Paris as we do!

Wedding in Paris at the Shangri-la hotel

A winter wedding, in the heart of Paris. Honestly, I made a little jump in the air when Safia and Reda asked me to photograph their wedding. It was always be my dream to photograph a wedding in Paris, and this one would be my first one! During our phone call, I already liked Safia. She is very kind and sweet, and wanted me to have a nice day too. And when I saw her wedding dress, I was even more exited for the day. She wore a dress with blue heels like Carry (for all the Sex And The City lovers)! With the flowers in her hair, and the little white fur coat, I was so in love with her outfit. The day could start, and I was very happy.  After the ceremony, the group of friends and family went to the Shangri-la hotel for a lunch and photo session.
